Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester Public Sail September 18, 19, 25, 1:00 pm 2 Hours Take a Two-Hour Sail on a Traditional Chesapeake Bay Skipjack Enjoy a two-hour sail aboard a traditional Chesapeake Bay skipjack on the beautiful Choptank River. Each sail is unique, depending on wind, weather, captain and crew. Our volunteers will treat you to an unforgettable experience of the age of sail and oyster dredge boats. On most two-hour sails, we demonstrate oyster dredging, giving a glimpse of the waterman’s life on the Bay. Adults: $30; Children 6-12: $10; Under 6: Free. ChesapeakeMan Ultra Triathlon September 25, The ChesapeakeMan Ultra Triathlon includes a 2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Bike, 26.2 Mile Run. The 140.6 mile Day of Adventure Begins at Sunrise over Infinity Beach.

ChesapeakeMan SwimFest September 25, This race is for those who want to brave the waters of the Choptank River for 2.4 miles and then join the spectators to cheer on the other racers. The swim start is at the same time as the full distance race and the Aqua Velo, so there are plenty of feet to catch a draft!

ChesapeakeMan Aqua Velo September 25, Interested in challenging yourself but don’t want to run the marathon? The Aqua Velo is for you! The Aqua Velo encompasses a 2.4 mile swim in the Choptank River and 112 miles of cycling through Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. The race finishes at the transition area where the full distance Chesapeake Man competitors will continue on with the run.

Skipjack Triathlon September 25, 8:00 am A new triathlon distance event offered as part of the Chesapeake Man Endurance Festival. Starts with one loop of the 1.2 mile ChesapeakeMan swim course in Hambrooks Bay. After a quick transition (skipping the changing tent) and saddling up for the 64 mile first loop of the Chesapeake Man bike course, there will be an out and back 10 mile run. The perfect event to end your season or to use as a training event for a long distance event.

Dorchester Showcase Free Skipjack Sails September 26, 12:30 pm 3 Hours Enjoy free short sails on the skipjack Nathan of Dorchester at Cambridge’s Dorchester Showcase Celebration. Sails are ‘sponsored by the Nathan Foundation. Free sails will be offered at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30 p.m. First come, first served – no reservations will be accepted for this event. Visitors may sign up for the sails on Showcase Day at the Nathan of Dorchester booth on High Street at Long Wharf.
